There’s a Japanese adage for everything.
Kaizen.
Uketamo.
Kintsugi.
Tsundoku.
Ikigai.
These words probably mean nothing to you, but mean everything to us here at MochiMelt. I’m asked often, why a company based in Toronto, with offices in Las Vegas has such Japanese influenced branding.
The simple answer? We like it.
More specifically, we like the impact that Japanese culture has had on product development over the past 100 years. The thoughtfulness, the focus on quality, the customer obsession and most importantly understanding the harmony of where you fit into society.
Our team at MochiMelt has launched many products in areas like cosmetics, beauty, technology and CPG, and we all share these same values.
Let me replay all of the adages above for you and see if you become a believer too.
Kaizen: small, incremental changes for the better. Every MochiMelt product is continuously improved. From packaging design, to formulation, and even the way you feel when you purchase our products. We are always taking feedback from our community and improving everyday (raza@mochimelt.com is my personal email, please drop me a line!).
Uketamo: acceptance to the core. Things happen when you’re building a business, by accepting things as they are vs. what we want to be, we can better chart the course of our collective company. Acceptance of reality, good or bad is what allows us to truly understand your needs as our community.
Kintsugi: embrace flaws and imperfections. We founded MochiMelt with the idea that no relationship is perfect, and everything degrades overtime. You embrace it as uniquely yours and find ways to water that relationship so it grows into something new and beautiful, flaws and all.
Tsundoku: never stop being curious. Speaks for itself. Curiosity is the fuel for all creation. It’s how we ended up completely reformulating edible lubricants from the ingredients up.
Ikigai: find your reason for being. Our reason for being is you. MochiMelt is a conduit for the desires of its community. We started with flavored lubricants but are excited to see where we all end up together.
Anyways, enough about us – I'm curious if any of these resonated with you for your personal lives!
As always, I'd love to chat.
