Luck meets experience.
I get a lot of comments about how professional and established Mochi Melt looks from the outside in and am asked how we had such a clear vision for what we wanted it to look like.
We didn’t.
Well we had a clear direction and that’s all we needed to start. Most importantly we knew what we didn’t want to be.
We didn’t want to be the brand that was everything to everyone, selling commoditized products to anyone willing to buy. We wanted to create a community, foster it and be the steward of its desires. Real experiences, real people and most importantly openness and focus on pleasure.
To be disruptive in the sexual health space, we had to be an agent of change. Normalizing our products with great packaging, design and further with having real humans on our website would only further that agenda. We had a big emphasis on standing out, vs standing in right off the bat.
Along the way we met amazing creators, talented artists and amazing people who all connected with the brand right away. Together we formulated the brand you see today. I’m just as excited to see how the brand evolves over time as well.
Here are some fun (and not so fun) things we did when launching:
- We spent an excruciating amount of time on product development and design. It took as 18 months to get our packaging and formulations just right
- We invested in high quality content and shoots
- Our shoot in Tulum, Mexico for our launch
- Our shoot in Sardonia, Italy for our
- We built our dream team from Day 1, along the way many others joined us but the core team and values remain the same
- We didn’t cheap out, opting for the best ingredients, packaging and experience we could curate
There are many more lessons that we would love to share with you. If you are a business owners or an aspiring one, reach out! I’d love to chat.
